Trying New Things

I am starting on learning new doughs. So I made French bread, and also tried out bread bowls.

My first Chicken pot pie from scratch. I was a little nervous but Brett said he really liked it and that was good enough for me!

Who knows what is next, maybe my moms' amazing homemade cinnamon rolls.

Take Me Out to The Ball Game

We had a great night at the ball field watching the Rangers vs Yankees. It was a fun game, and what made it even better was the great company! We were able to meet up with the Lancasters and Motts and their cute kids June and Liam. Brett and I got practice taking a little kid to a baseball game. Suprisingly, I think they loved it as much as us!

Easter

Well Easter was a lot of fun. We did the usual Denham tradition of hiding eggs with numbers to see what you get off the table. We did dye easter eggs, just not a huge abundance because then someone has to eat them all. We do have the every color egg, the texas flag egg, they texas rangers baseball egg, and one for our little Drew! What else do we need?

One of the prizes off the Easter table was Play-Doh. Lets say we thought of almost everything to make, or at least what we could come up with that night! Even, yes, Barney!

My trip to Utah!!!

I hadn't been home for a really long time, so being able to be with my family meant a lot to me. It started with spending some time with Taylor and the kids. They really love Grandma's new Ipad! They were making songs with just saying words, have to admit they were pretty talented and had a lot of fun.

 How can you forget this cute little boy Ryker. He learned to officially walk while I was there, now he is probably running everywhere imaginable! But I enjoyed seeing him get excited to get across the floor.

Another face I that I love is of little Lailee. She was learning to say things, my favorite was "blue-berrrrr-ies" Wow I spoiled her just to hear her say funny things! It was a lot of fun to hear her start to talk.

Time for the Park! Wahoo. I think there were a lot of smiles, a lot swinging, and playing. The little kids were a lot of fun together and played well. Grandma Shelly is the best... She always makes the events more fun by bringing the good treats, and the doing whatever those little grandkids would like to do! 

These three a good friends. I thought they were so fun and so cute!

This is all of them giving presents out of paper that they made each other. Whether pictures or boxes they had a gift for everyone!

You wouldn't believe it, but they are all different ages. Lailee was almost 1 1/2, Ryker was just less than a year, and Mya is only 4 months! But each of them are a lot of fun.

 Welcome to the 2nd annual Queen's tea party. Where all the grandkids were invited by the Queen. They were dressed up beautifully, and they were such great prince's and princess'. There was a great tea party, a scavenger hunt, and water painting was soon to follow.



Our trip to WICKED

Brett surprised me with tickets to Wicked. He had never seen it and I really like it! We went down to Austin to enjoy the theater. We absolutely loved it and Brett now knows what all the hype is about! Now we listen to the Wicked soundtrack on a lot of our roadtrips. Our favorite is POPULAR!

Our Christmas Away From Home

We were so sad to not be able to go home for Christmas due to our work schedules. So we figured we needed to make it special away from home to recognize what we do have! And what we do have access to while living here in Waco, Texas. We started the trip right with a nice Dallas Temple visit. We always enjoy going for a little spiritual rebooting!

Now, originally we weren't going to do this, but how many times does a Cowboys game not land on a Sunday. Not too many- unless you have a great holiday like Christmas!

We stayed in an awesome Marriot Hotel in Downtown Dallas that is connected to a skating rink and shops.

And hey, while we are here we might as well catch the Dallas Stars Hockey Team play as well. Brett and I had a good laugh when we went to the game because during the national anthem, every time the word stars was sung the whole crowd would shout it at the top of their lungs! Something we definitely weren't expecting!

 And yes, it is time for a Pappas chain restaurant. This being the Pappas Brothers Steakhouse. Wow, it was very fancy, and very good. We splurged and enjoyed how the other half live! Won't happen very often but it was a great Christmas memory for us to remember for a long time.

Finally home for Christmas, even if that is in Waco it is still home for us! It was a great day of talking and skyping with our families, opening presents, and enjoying a day off for Brett and I together... it is rare for us to have breaks at the same time so we really enjoyed the time.

Trip to California with the North's

So, YES, but families this year decided to do the California trip. They may do it differently... but fun is still had by all! Starting the trip out right was making a trip to see the awesome San Diego Temple. We love the being around there even if we don't have time for too much.

We also had a chance to visit SeaWorld. It was a ton fun, and we were able to do and see all sorts of things while we were there. We saw the shows, exhibits, and the rides for the kids- and maybe the adults!

The kids got to appreciate the variety of the downtown feeling! With the great tortillas on the street, and the colorful shops they were entertained the whole time!

 We had an awesome view, and location for our hotel. It was right off the oceanside pier. We walked down there many nights to enjoy the pier. 

 

While enjoying the downtown area, we stopped and visited the San Diego Mission. We learned to pan gold, learned about the mormon batallion being part of it, and got to participate in the tour.

Some of us were better at it than others but we all gave a good try!
